A GIFT- It is a special ability to do something. There are so many different kinds of gifts; musical gifts, artistic gifts, intellectual gifts (e.g. imagination & creativity), spiritual gifts …just to mention a few

SPIRITUAL GIFTS

A spiritual gift is a special divine empowerment bestowed to each believer by the Holy Spirit. Spiritual gifts are expressed within the body of Christ i.e. the church.

 Gifts are given according to God’s grace and discernment. A person has no influence on the gift God gives to him/her. God decides which gift to give to whom. God gives us gifts to glorify Him with them.

 If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that may be praised through Jesus Christ. 1Peter 4:11

DISCOVERING YOUR GIFT

This is the process of finding out which gift the Holy Spirit has given you.

WHY SHOULD A BELIEVER DISCOVER HIS OR HER SPIRITUAL GIFT?

• When one knows his/her gift he/she engages in ministries that improve their gifts.
• One’s gifts serve as a point of reference in plugging in ministry.
• One can use his/her gift in encouraging others.

SIX WAYS ON HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFT

1. Through prayer ask God to reveal to your gift.
2. Circumstance-God can create a situation/case that will help you to identify your gift.
3. Being involved in a variety of ministries. This will eventually make you to realize in which ministry you feel fulfilled.
4. Look for a ministry you seem to be more effective.
5. Look for a ministry in which others affirm your abilities.
6. Use of gift assessment tools.

NURTURING YOUR GIFT

• Be integrated in the community of believers, bean active ingredient, and take part in activities.
• Enlist yourself for service in an area of your passion.
• Join a small group (a care group) in which you can serve without judgment.
• Have a mentor.
